Our duck friends have been sent out to help NASA scientists save the world. In the quest to better understand global warming and melting glaciers, 90 rubber ducks have been dropped into holes in Greenland’s fastest moving glacier, the Jakobshavn Glacier in Baffin Bay, between Greenland and Canada. Labeled with instructions and an email address, scientists hope that fishermen or hunters find the rubber ducks and contact NASA. Information about the ducks’ whereabouts can tell the scientists a lot about where the water from the glacier ends up and how fast it moves.
We wish the best of luck to our duck friends and hope that someone finds them…
